Officially Tet or Vietnamese New Year – the biggest festival in Vietnam lasts 3 first days. On the days near Tet and after Tet, spring flower festivals are organized in the Ho Chi Minh city (formerly known as Saigon). They are different from flower markets where people come to buy flowers and plants to decorate their houses before Tet. At spring flower festivals, people walk and take nice photos. 1. Nguyen Hue Flower Street

Since the 19th century, Nguyen Hue Street has been one of the most beautiful streets in Saigon. From the end of the 20th century till 1990s, Nguyen Hue Street was where hundreds of flowers and plants used to decorate houses at Tet are sold. Nguyen Hue flower market has been the biggest flower market in the city and it was the symbol of Tet in the past. Since the 1990s, the flower market is moved to 23/9 Park for some reason. Since 2004, Ho Chi Minh City decided to organize the spring flower festival along Nguyen Hue Street to commemorate this traditional flower market. Annually Nguyen Hue Street is decorated colorfully and impressively with lots of flowers according to each year’s theme. Since 2015, Nguyen Hue Street has become the only walking street where the traffic of vehicles temporarily stops in this busy and crowded city. Nguyen Hue Street with Ho Chi Minh Square and Independence Palace attracts locals as well as tourists coming to relax, enjoy delicious foods at restaurants or drinks some coffee at the cafe along the streets. The flower festival usually occurs from the lunar twenty-eight December of the past year to the lunar fourth January of the new year. Nguyen Hue Flower Street Festival Dinh Dau Spring 2017 will show the image of industry, assets, modern, peace and love. Especially, in this year, the festival will have many kinds of nice flowers from many countries in the world.

Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival has been famous in recent years. The festival usually occurs for seven days, from the lunar 23rd to 29th December at The Crescent area, Phu My Hung urban area, District 7, HCMC. Each year, the festival has been designed based on a theme, the festival recreates the peaceful and beautiful countryside of Vietnam inside luxury villas and modern buildings. The highlights of the Phu My Hung Spring Flower Festival are a large area and Phu My bridge – the most romantic bridge in the city. You can also have a chance to visit Phu My Hung flower market next to the festival with lots of strange flowers, trees and plants.

3. Tao Dan Spring Flower Festival Ho Chi Minh City

Tao Dan Park is one of the biggest and oldest parks in Ho Chi Minh city. Every year, Spring Flower Festival is organized at this park from the end of last year to the beginning of the new year. The character of the festival is having many strange kinds of flowers, pleasure fishes, bonsai, stones of art. You can come there to relax, walk around, see beautiful sights, beautiful girls in Vietnamese traditional long dresses, children running around and take great photos.
