Itinerary
Day 1
At 8:00 AM, you will be picked up by our driver and tour guide at your hotel in Hue City and transferred to the DMZ (demilitarized zone) in Quang Tri Province.
We will reach the DMZ area after 2 hours and a half. There are some well-known historical sites including the Quang Tri Citadel. It is a big miss if tourists do not visit this important geographical location – the 17th parallel in Quang Tri province – the dividing line between North Vietnam and South Vietnam from 22 July 1954 to 2 July 1976.
At 11:00 AM, we will stop at Hien Luong Bridge – the exact location that divided North and South Vietnam during the war. Some bomb craters and old bunkers around are worth seeing. You will not only learn about the history but also have a chance to enjoy yourself and take wonderful photos thanks to the picturesque view over Ben Hai River from the beautiful bride.
On the way, we will stop for lunch with delicious Vietnamese traditional dishes.
At 12:00 AM, we will explore the dark and narrow Vinh Moc Tunnels which are 2 km long and 25 meters under the ground, home to about 60 families and the birthplace of 17 children. Walking through the tunnels is one of the best ways to learn more about the history of Vietnam.
At 3:00 PM, we will drive to Son Trach village/Dong Hoi/Phong Nha near Phong Nha Cave and stay overnight there.
Day 2
At 8:15 AM, you will be picked up at your hotel after having breakfast. This will be one of the most memorable days in Vietnam because you will visit one of the most impressive caves in the world. A boat trip on the emerald green river will take you to Phong Nha Cave. You still sit on the boat to explore the cave with the extraordinary rock formations. You will get to see the “Royal Court”, “Buddha”, “Lion”, Fairy Caves”,…
At 12:00 PM, we will head to a local restaurant in Phong Nha, enjoy a delicious lunch.
From 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, you will spend your time enjoying the beauty of the Dark Cave which is made of mostly basalt in addition to limestone.
Getting through the passage, you will be covered in mud and ready for another swim. Next, we will go further into the cave, find it wider and deeper. You will hold the stalagmites and limestone columns to get to the next big opening.
