Scooter Saigon Tour is a part of Athena Travel Vietnam which is the expert of tours in Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta. Scooter Saigon Tour is expert in operating tours on two-wheels (motorbike and vintage vespa) around HCMC. Tracy Do (Thùy Trang) and Bill Bui (Thiện Bình) established the brand of Scooter Saigon Tour in 2015 and has managed the company in order to bring tourists the best experience in the city.
The story about Scooter Saigon Tour
Tracy Do and Bill Bui are the co-founders of Scooter Saigon Tour. They both studied in Russia and earned master’s degrees in science. After graduating, Tracy and Bill were be back to Vietnam and has been lived in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam’s largest economic center and cultural capital. Becoming a university lecturer at HUFLIT (Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology), Tracy found that lots of students did not have chances to interract with foreigners to improve their English skills and knowledge. She tried to sell motorbike city tours with local students on Viator. At first, the routes were simple and the students were well-trained. It was noted the tours were led by students – not professional tour guides.
In 2015, Tracy found that it was better start a startup. Tracy and Bill spent months for driving around different districts of Saigon, trolled into narrow back alleys to find the best stops for our tours. Hidden corners and less-known places with local life should be share to visitors who have been taken to famous tourist attractions for many years. We also found that foreigners usually ate at restaurants in District 1, 2, 3, 7, tourists ate their meals at restaurants for tourists, many of them did not have chances to enjoy amazing Saigon dishes at eateries where locals loved to eat. New experiences were added to the tour routes. The most popular options include Sightseeing tour (with hidden gems & back alleys), Food tour (at secret local eateries) and the Mix of Sight & food.
We designed the website scootersaigontour.com on which customers can see motorbike tour products. Tracy Do has written about 2,000 blog posts related to Vietnam Travel (advice & tips, tourist attractions in the whole country). The best part is perhaps hundreds of blogs about less-known places in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnamese authentic cuisines, especially hidden foods. Nice photos about Saigon streets, life of local people and foods taken by Tracy are included on the website.
We started recruiting tour guides, and trained them to run the motorbike tours as well as possible. We have both full time and part time tour guides who are all licensed, good motorbike drivers, careful, and experienced in taking tourists to unseen gems of the city. They know where to eat the greatest foods in Saigon, ingredients and how to cook delicious Vietnamese dishes, and help our guests to enjoy the tastings at their best. Sometimes, valued guests tell us that they feel the guides like their friends, and feel like home in Saigon.
