Itinerary of 2 Day Mekong Delta Tour Cai Thia – Homestay – Cai Be
DAY 1: CAITHIA – BIKING – HOMESTAY
The program will begin at Cai Thia traditional market of Cai Be District of Tien Giang Province.
Passing by Cai Thia church, My Luong communal house, we will take a boat to see how to make rice paper at the local house. We will have one more choice to see more about Mekong Delta if we will take a bike trip in one hour to discover the famous village of Hoa Loc mango on the narrow beautiful roads. It is so interesting to see orchards, traditional houses, and schools in Mekong Delta. We will come to a local and peaceful home, we will be able to create some cakes (local donuts) and taste them with hot tea. After biking, we will come back Cai Thia village. We will be on our boat and enjoy the best lunch on the boat when being towards An Binh Island.
We will check in Ut Trinh Homestay, make friends with the family, and relax with a fresh shower or some cold drinks. After taking a nap, we will cook local dishes with the owners. We will enjoy dinner and have a cup of tea or rice wine. Overnight in a private room of homestay.
DAY 2: HOMESTAY – CAIBE / SGN
We will have breakfast at the homestay, check out and get on the boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, the Mekong River. We will come to have a quick visit to Cai Be Floating Market.
Then, the rowing boat will carry you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy the peaceful moment. Besides, we will come to Tan Phong Island of Cai Lay District for biking on village paths to see the local daily life: orchards, schools, churches, pagodas, and traditional houses… On the way, we will be able to make some stops to see how artists make the dried water hyacinth to make many products: bags, baskets, hats, wallets, and shoes…
The cruise will finish at Cai Be Pier in the town around 11:00 AM.
