You will get to visit local farms and houses to learn how people live along the river. You then stop at Cao Dai Temple and Buddhist pagoda to see the diversity of religions in Vietnam.
After having a traditional lunch, you will arrive at a beautiful boutique hotel The Island Lodge, where you can relax by the river with a glass of wine, chill at the pool or take a bike ride on the peaceful alleys of Unicorn Island full of shady fruit trees. You will then have a delicious dinner specially cooked for you by a French chef.
In the morning, You will have a nutritious breakfast and set on another day of discovering. You will visit Cai Be Floating Market to see how locals run their trading business on the river, and then take a rowboat trip along small canals of the Delta surrounded by thousands of coconut palms. After a traditional lunch at the floating restaurant, you will visit a brick atelier and various workshops to learn how Vietnamese still use old family technologies to make very many things with their hands. You will take an exciting trip by xe loi (a traditional transport popular in small villages.)
You will enjoy an adventurous speedboat trip back to Saigon. After arriving at the city pier, Les Rives van will bring you back to your hotel.

Itinerary of Mekong Delta Tour by Speedboat 2 Days 1 Night
DAY 1
8:00 am: Your guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you to your boat at Ho Chi Minh City pier by car.
8:15 am: The boat will slip away from downtown Saigon via narrow canals and enter the verdant tributaries of the Mekong Delta. Breakfast will be served on board.
9:00 am: You will visit Can Giuoc riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits, and fish and shellfish. Great photo opportunities!
10:00 am: You will stop at the Pagoda, and your guide will explain the importance of Buddhism to many people of the Delta.
10:30 am: You will reach the idyllic watery expanses of the Delta itself, known as Dong bang song Cuu Long (the Delta of Nine Dragons) for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River.
On the way, you will be able to visit a traditional riverside house with giant Burmese pythons as a pet, an old Mekong village, and surrounding rice paddies, and then a traditional farmhouse where you will sample Mekong whisky and coconuts.
Or you will be able to visit a local trader and try the Mekong produces, whisky and wine. You will walk along the banks of the river to a traditional rural Vietnamese house where 3 generations have lived, before discovering a charming village where you can try fresh coconuts from the tree.
Please note: Our tours are very flexible. Your guide may combine parts from both routes.
12:30 pm: You will enjoy a traditional Mekong lunch at the local restaurant.
2:00 pm: You will visit a fish farm to see how the fish is raised in the Mekong Delta.
2:30 pm: You will arrive at the boutique hotel The Island Lodge. You will relax by the river, chill at the pool, or cycle on the peaceful alleys of Unicorn Island full of shady fruit trees.
In the evening, you will have a delicious dinner specially cooked by a French chef.
DAY 2
7:30 am: You will have breakfast at the hotel and depart The Island Lodge to continue discovering the Delta.
8:00 am: You will visit Cai Be floating market to see how locals run their trading business on the river.
9:30 am: You will enjoy a rowboat trip along small canals of the Delta surrounded by thousands of coconut palms.
10:30 am: You will visit a brick atelier to see how locals still use traditional technologies to make bricks.
12:00 am: You will stop at a riverside restaurant to have a delicious Vietnamese lunch.
1:30 pm: You will take a ride on xe loi (a traditional transport used in the Mekong Delta villages.) to visit rice noodles, and nail nippers workshops.
3:30 pm: You will return to the speedboat and depart for Ho Chi Minh City.
5:30 pm: You will arrive back in Saigon. Les Rives’ staff will take you to your hotel by car.
