DAY 1 – Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Galaxy cave
From your chosen hotel in Hanoi to Ninh Binh (100km): approx. 2hrs Easy biking (5-15 km) depend on clients’ wish
Depart the hotel at 8.30 a.m. for the 2-hour journey through rural northern Vietnam to Ninh Binh province, one of Vietnam’s most attractive regions with breathtaking landscape and old temples. It is also known as “Dry Halong Bay” because of the beautiful limestone karsts that dominate the area.
Begin a leisurely 5 to 15 km (depending on inclination) bicycling excursion around Tho Ha hamlet, traveling through calm villages and admiring the rustic countryside surroundings. Continue to Dong Tam Hamlet to participate in some exciting agricultural activities like as crab harvesting, fishing and transplanting, watering veggies, and more.
After lunch, take a 2-hour boat ride via little canals through the paddy fields (rice crops are visible between March and early June), then walk 200 meters down the twisting rocky route of the foot to reach the Galaxy Cave gate. Enter the cave and marvel at the beautiful stalactites that adorn the cave ceiling. Continue exploring But Hien cave, where you will be drawn to numerous natural dazzling stalactites with forms and figures before returning to the dock and being transferred to the hotel for check-in.
(Note: Clients staying at Tam Coc Garden, Ninh Binh Legend, or Ninh Binh Hidden Charm can take a sampan voyage through Galaxy Cave and the Thung Nham eco-tourism zone before being transferred to the above hotels. Clients staying at the Emeralda Ninh Binh must return to the local port for a shuttle back to the hotel.)

DAY 2 – Ninh Binh – Hanoi
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before travelling an hour to Phat Diem church, which was erected in stone in 1892. It is a synthesis of Vietnamese and European architecture, resulting in a “eclectic architectural style.” Step through the complex’s ancient buildings to feel the exquisite sculptures. Then take a short journey to see a mat weaving family who live on the river’s edge.
Communicate with them through the guide to obtain an insight into the lives of locals balancing economic advancement and preserving traditional family crafts. Return to Tam Coc for lunch.
The journey concludes with a visit to Bich Dong Pagodas, an old three-tiered cave pagoda with a lovely pagoda and a breathtaking vista from the top.
In the late afternoon, return to Hanoi.
