At 7h30-8h30 am: Our talented and experienced tour guide and driver wait for you outside of the port, at the gate. They hang a board with your name on it so that you find them easily. After a warm welcome, we head to Saigon which is a hustle and bustle city, about 2 hours from Phu My Port.

Upon your arrival at Ho Chi Minh City, you will have a big chance to learn more about the history, Vietnam War, the life of soldiers in the wartime through photographs, machinery, and weapons displayed at the War Remnants Museum.

It’s time to visit Independence Palace (Reunification Palace) which was the residence and working place of President Ngo Dinh Diem. He was former South Vietnam from the 1960s to Apr 1975. When a tank crashed into the palace’s gate, Diem’s government was collapsed. Now, the palace is open for domestic and international tourists and hope that they will know more about the history of Vietnam by seeing formal meeting rooms, private bedrooms, luxury items, and war situation rooms which are 10 meters below earth’s level.

After having lunch with flavorful Vietnamese dishes, we visit the French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral. This building is conveniently located in the center of the city, built by the French in the late 1877s. You can walk around to not only see the beautiful exterior of the neo-Romanesque cathedral and the garden with a large statue of the Virgin Mary. Note: Until now, Notre Dame Cathedral has been under repair.

Another nice French building is General Post Office which is designed by the famous architect Gustav Eiffel. This construction is a testament to the French presence in the late 1800s. Walking in the building makes you feel like being in an elegant railway station.
