The Vihara was built towards the beginning of the 20th century. The presence of latérite foundations suggests that it might have been constructed on an earlier location. It also houses some remarkable mural paintings. However, these are beginning to deteriorate due to weathering. They continue to be one of the few survivors of the ongoing cultural degradation brought on by public indifference.
It is a small pagoda that stands alone in the middle of rice fields and gets very few visitors. Like Wat Tani Pagoda in the province of Kampot last May, its solitude might prove to be its downfall.
