Tan Quy Dong Flower Village also called Tan Quy Dong Garden or Sa Dec Flower Village is in Tan Quy Dong Commune, some kilometers from the center of Sa Dec City to the north.
Tan Quy Dong Flower Village has formed since the early 20th century. At that time, there were only some households growing flowers to decorate on the Lunar New Year days. Finding flowers suitable to the land, blooming beautifully, the households growing flowers were gradually increasing and the business purpose was defined. Nowadays, the total area to grow flowers is over 510 ha with 2,300 households.
Through the years, Tan Quy Dong flower village remains the character of that flower beds are straight and grown on high frames. Coming to Tan Quy Dong Flower village, you can find a forest of flowers with all colors and fragrances possible. Especially, this place takes pride in its 50 types of roses such as Black Baccarat Rose, Cleopatra Rose, Elizabeth Rose, Mascara Rose, etc.
Besides flowers, the flower village has many ornamental plants, some of which may reach the age of hundreds. Strolling around, you may also catch sight of popular trees such as star-fruit trees, fig trees, or areca, etc. As time gone by, under the skillful hand of the craftsmen, these popular trees have transformed into valuable pieces of bonsai arts.
Coming to visit Tan Quy Dong flower village in any months of the year, you can also watch flowers and take photos satisfactorily, especially, Sa Nhien – Cai Dao flower road, which has the length of over 2 km. In addition to flowers, this place also attracts tourists with café shops having open space decorated beautifully.
With experience for a long time and progress about science and technology, flowers and ornamental plants in Sa Dec, now, present not only in the Mekong River Delta but also in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, the Provinces of Central and North Vietnam. Besides, they are also exported to many foreign countries such as Lao, Cambodia, Thailand, and China. Therefore, this place has become a familiar sight for the visitors that know clearly about flowers and ornamental plants.
Tan Quy Dong Flower Village is one of the famous traditional trade villages in Mekong River Delta and South Vietnam.
