Detailed Itinerary of Full day Mekong Delta Tour – Cai Be
Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City around 7:00 and then head towards Cai Be District.
Reaching Cai Be at about 9:30, we will firstly visit the Cai Be Cao Dai Temple of the Caodaism, a unique religion in Vietnam; and the Cai Be Catholic Church. After that, you will get on the boat and move to visit both Cai Be land market and the floating market to watch the locals’ life and distinguish the two kinds of markets. Leaving those two markets, you will continue your discovery trip to explore the river life of Mekong Delta people by using their daily vehicle, a hand-rowing boat. The boat will cruise among the meandering rivers and crisscrossed canals and lead you to the Mekong Delta’s lush green orchards.

Returning to the boat and shift to Tan Phong Island, where you can have a relaxing time enjoying local fruits before joining our cycling tour to travel around the island. We will visit the traditional handicraft workshops of rice papers, and handbags, along with wooden tables and chairs. If it is on schooldays, you will also have an occasion to make friends with local cute and gentle pupils in a village school. You are stopping at a local farmer’s house to enjoy a cup of tea and local specialties of banana candies. You get to pluck the fruits at the host’s orchard and talk to him to understand how local farmers take care of their gardens.
After saying goodbye to the hospitable host, we will go on cycling to the bang conical hat (nón bàng) making workshop. We then cycle back to Tan Phong Restaurant to enjoy local food and specialties.
At about 3 PM, you will embark on the boat to leave Tan Phong Island for the pier to return to Ho Chi Minh City. The tour will end at about 6 PM.
