Itinerary of Mekong Delta 2 Day Trip Cai Thia – Homestay – Vinh Long

DAY 1: CÁI THIA – AN BÌNH ISLAND – HOMESTAY

The program will begin at Cái Thia local market of Cai Be District of Tien Giang Province.

Passing by Cai Thia Church, My Luong Communal House, we will go boating to see how to make rice paper at the local house. We will have one more option to see more about the Mekong Delta if we have a biking trip in one hour to discover the famous village of Hoa Loc mango of Ca Be District on the small beautiful roads. It is so interesting to see orchards, traditional houses, and schools in Mekong Delta. We will come to a local and peaceful home, and there, we will create some cakes (local donuts) and sample it with hot tea. After the bike ride, we will come back to Cai Thia Village. Then, We will be on our boat and enjoy the best lunch on the boat while the boat is towards An Binh Island of Long Ho District, Vinh Long Province.

Upon arrival, we will check in Ut Trinh Homestay, and make friends with the family. We will relax with a fresh shower or some cold drinks. Here, we will cook local dishes with the owners, and after that, we will enjoy dinner and have a cup of tea or rice wine. Overnight in a private room of the homestay.

DAY 2: HOMESTAY – VĨNH LONG

After getting up, we will have breakfast and check out for a walk along the village to enjoy the fresh air in the morning and arrive at the local workshop to see how to make coconut candy, rice paper, and pop-rice and enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea.

Then, we will take a boat to visit the brick kilns where you will be able to see how the local people create beautiful pottery from clay. Our boat will continue to go along the floating village and see how to farm catfish on the Mekong River.

In addition, we will visit Vinh Long Market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take photos of shrimps, fish, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, and vegetables… The cruise will finish in Vinh Long City around 10:00 AM.
