It serves as a poignant reminder of the heroic, cruel and long Vietnam War and show the crime of the enemies. You will walk through many themed rooms to see documents, graphic pictures and American military weaponry on exhibit in this museum.
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Notre Dame Cathedral was built by the French colonists in the late 1880s and is one of the most fascinating architectural buildings in the city. We should not miss this place because it is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in Saigon and South Vietnam where Buddhism is the single largest organized religion.
Central Post Office
In the opposite of the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral is the must-visit Central Post Office which was designed sophisticatedly and splendidly. It is known as the wonderfully conserved relic of French colonial times. Most of the tourists appreciate the beauty of the exterior and interior of the building. It is probably the largest post office in Southeast Asia and still function.
Ngoc Hoang pagoda – Jade Emperor Pagoda
Next, we head to the Emperor Jade Pagoda which is also called the Tortoise pagoda. Many people pray for children, richness and happiness at this pagoda, this is one of Ho Chi Minh City’s five most prominent pagodas. For your information, a group of Cantonese from Guangzhou province in Southwest China built Jade Emperor Pagoda at the beginning of the 20th century. The pagoda is a typical example of the Buddhism’s Mahayanist branch that is extensively practiced in Vietnam.
Chinatown – Big Market
Originated in 1778, The Big Market (also called Cho Lon by Vietnamese people) in Ho Chi Minh City is perhaps the largest Chinatown in Vietnam. Getting around the area to learn more about history, culture, economy, and the local life of Vietnamese, especially China-Vietnamese people.
