4 Days Phnom Penh Phnom Penh on Aqua Mekong Cruise: We bicycle through the rice paddies to see wise masters climb palms towering above us that reach to the sky. Take a boat over the clear water, get out amid the lotuses, and ride an ox cart down the Tonle Sap riverbanks past lacquered wooden homes where people seek sanctuary during the hot, dry months in the relative cool of these outdoor makeshift living spaces.

Day 1: Phnom Penh

Activities: Embark on the ship and take in a performance by the Khmer Apsara

With a Khmer Apsara performance, a local custom immortalized on the temple walls of Angkor Wat, we celebrate the continued journey towards the heart of this powerful river together.

Day 2: Tonle Sap River – Koh Chen – Kampong Prasat

Activities: See the silversmiths’ village of Koh Chen.

We see artists creating the exquisite silverware prized by Khmer royalty in the silversmith town of Koh Chen.

We proceed to Udong, the former imperial capital from the 17th to the 19th century, where we visit the meditation facility Vipassana Dhura Mandala to learn about a particularly difficult Buddhist practice.

An afternoon walking tour of Kampong Prasat provides an up-close look at local culture and the riverfront setting.

Day 3: Kampong Chnnang – Kampong Tralach

Activities: Visit the local palm-sugar producers and potters

In the cooler hours, we ride mountain bikes or are driven by shaded tuk-tuks into the verdant countryside to meet traditional potters and palm-sugar producers.

Day 4: Phnom Penh

Activities: Visit the Killing Field, Russian Market, Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide, Silver Pagoda, National Museum, and Royal Palace. Tour concludes

By motorized tuk-tuk, we take our customers on a tour of the Cambodian capital, including the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum of Cambodia, which has the biggest collection of Khmer art in the whole world.

For those who are interested, we may go to the Killing Field and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or go shopping at Russian Market. Disembark.
