Established in 2000, Dam Sen Flower Market in Nguyen Van Phu Street, District 11, Ho Chi Minh City has become one of the biggest wholesale and retail flower markets in the city. At first, the market has about 60 flower shops. More and more flower shops in alleys of Nguyen Van Phu Street have been open. The number of the shops is over 100 in recent. Coming to Nguyen Van Phu Street, visitors can not only buy beautiful flowers at cheap prices but also learn more about the unique local life.

Opening hours: The market opens for 24 hours. During the day, the stores sell flowers and others products to customers and retailers at retail and wholesale. Flowers are shipped to retailers by motorbikes and three-wheel vehicles. At night, retailers in the city and other provinces in neighboring provinces come to the market to buy flowers and leaves at wholesale. Some retailers call vendors at Dam Sen Flower Market to order and the truck drivers transfer flowers to their shop. On normal days, trucks are allowed to transfer flowers to and out of the market from midnight to about 5:00 AM. At festivals, on holidays and celebrations, the trucks are allowed to stop in front of the main gate of the market by day and by night.

The main gate of Dam Sen Flower Market is only 3 m wide. Porters, shippers, customers crowd the main gate all the day. Security guards stand in front of the gate to make sure the market, vendors, customers and workers are safe. The market has steel columns, corrugated iron roofs and walls. The market is lightened with lots of light bulbs by night and by day. Above the path between two lines of stores, some lanterns hexagonal lanterns are hung. In each store, flowers and flower arrangement accessories are put in plastic buckets, hung on walls, the ceiling and lines.
