Don a specialty food of Quang Ngai, Vietnam. It is similar to baby clam but its shell is in yellow or light black. In Vietnam, Don only occurs in 2 big rivers in Quang Ngai province: Tra River and Ve River. Don lives in the rivers, at the mouth of the rivers, and on the river banks. They are abundant at the river mouth. Don lives under the sand so that it is difficult to catch them. Catching Don is a hard work, it needs experience, skill, and patience.

Boil Don with water and a little salt. The ratio of water to Don is 2:1. When the water boils, use chopsticks to stir Don so that they open their mouths. Separate the Don broth and Don. Season the broth, separate Don meat from their shells using a basket, add Don meat to the broth and cook until boiling.
