The following routing is for Mekong Eyes Explorer (Departure every Sunday), the same routing can also be booked on Gecko Eyes and Dragon Eyes (daily departures).

Sunday: Phnom Penh – Tan Chau – Cao Lanh

In the morning, be picked you up at your hotel in Phnom Penh, be transferred to the jetty where to hop on our speedboat. A professional English speaking tour guide will be always with you to ensure your well being and comfort on board. He/she also supports the immigration procedure to Vietnam. Be served with snacks & refreshing drinks.

At around 13:00, arrive in Tan Chau, leave the speedboat, board your river cruiser. After a refreshing welcome drink, be shown our on-board facilities and your cozy cabin, check in and take a rest.

Enjoy your healthy and tasty lunch with delicious Vietnamese dishes while the boat starts cruising through the mighty rivers and small canals in Mekong Delta Region. Be on the sundeck, in our lounge, or in your cabin and enjoy the amazing sights on the banks. Learn more about the daily life of local people in the peaceful Mekong Delta. Join the Sunset Cocktail Party at the bar while watching the romantic sunset over the wonderful water landscape. The cruise anchors for overnight.

Wake up well rested to the sound of the river. Be ready for another amazing sightseeing day in the Mekong Delta. At around 6:30, the cruise vessel sets off for a sunrise cruise. See how the locals go about their daily work growing tropical fruits, building ships, farming fishes. Enjoy an early breakfast with healthy foods.

Head to the Island of Cu Lao Gieng which is located between Chau Doc Province and Sa Dec City. Visit a famous architectural impressive monastery that was built on the island in 1875 by French nuns of Saint Paul de Chartres, is able to accommodates more than 1,000 people and includes an orphanage, a hospice, a school, and a leprosy centre. In recent days, Cu Lao Gieng is mainly a retreat for retired nuns. Located in the middle of rice paddies and green jungle, the large monastery is completely cut off from residential areas. You will be very surprised to see such an architectural impressive monastery in the middle of nowhere.

In the afternoon, cruise towards the fascinating city of Sa Dec to see the bustle and colorful local land market, sip some Vietnamese coffee on the nice riverside promenade. Stop at a nearby flower village with colorful orchards. Explore the charming town with lots of colonial architecture, old markets, churches, old villas and traders’ houses. Visit a beautifully renovated traditional house of a Chinese trader’s family. This sumptuous building belonged to the main character of the novel “The Lover (Nguoi Tinh)” and indeed to the lover of Marguerite Duras.

In the late afternoon, be back to the cruise boat, have a romantic dinner, enjoy a sunset cruise with more photo opportunities from aboard. The cruise boat anchors at night.

After an early breakfast, take a rowing sampan ride through the zig zag small canals of Tan Phong Islet with local people. Visit a local candy factory where to learn about the ingredients, process of making sweet candies with traditional recipes. A rice paper workshop is the next stop. Quiet villages, verdant orchards, rice paddies are highlights of the boat excursion.

Discover the nearby town by foot or explore the small side canals and roads in Mekong Delta region by bicycle. In the afternoon, disembark for a guided leisurely tour through a village, interract with generous locals and taste the tasty local produce and fresh tropical fruits.

Return back on board and have a drink at the bar or just relax on deck while admiring sun sets in the Mekong Delta. The cruise boat will anchor for the night. Be served a flavorful on-board dinner. Stay overnight on board.

Breakfast will be served. Take a sampan boat ride to Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho. This is known as Mekong Delta’s busiest and most lively markets. Pull up to the boats for seeing products, talking and bargaining with the merchants. Visit some factories, fruit orchards and local houses.

The Mekong Delta River cruise ends at around 11.00 — 11.30. Hop off the boat at the pier from where be transferred to your hotel in Saigon center (Districts 1 and 3).
