18th Coronavirus positive case in Vietnam

In the afternoon of 7th March 2020, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam confirmed the 18th Coronavirus positive case in the country. This is the second patient after the 23-day period in which no Coronavirus case was confirmed.

Patient 18 is 27 years old and from Ninh Binh Province.

On 17th February 2020, Patient 18 and his 24-year-old sister came to Gimhae International Airport in Busan City, Korea, then arrived in Daegu City.

Patient 18, his sister and two friends went to supermarkets in Daegu twice on 18th and 19th February 2020.

The two friends arrived in Vietnam on 26th February 2020, isolated at Son Tay Military University in Hanoi.

On 4th March 2020, Patient 18 returned to Vietnam on the flight VJ981 from Busan Airport to Van Don Airport. After going through migration, he has been isolated, a sample was taken from him and tested. He was confirmed to be infected with Coronavirus.
