The 17th case of Covid-19 confirmed in Hanoi, Vietnam

A woman, named N.H.N and aged 26, traveled to Italy – a Coronavirus disease area and arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam on 2nd March 2020, did not declare her medical history, was confirmed as the 17th Coronavirus case in Vietnam after the period of 23 days in which there is no new case of Covid-19 in the country.

Personal information of the Patient 17

Age: 26; Family name: Nguyen; Full name: Nguyen Hong Nhung.

Address: 125 Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The ward is located right in the city center.

Itinerary

On 15th February 2020, Nguyen left Vietnam for London, England.

On 18th February 2020, she flew to Milan City, Lombardy Province, Italy for traveling.

On 25th February 2020, Nguyen arrived in Paris, France, was in contact with her sister who was confirmed Coronavirus infection later. Nguyen did not know that her sister infected with the virus.

Four days later, Nguyen had a cough but decided not to see a doctor.

On 1st March 2020, the patient felt tired, had aches and pains, but sit at seat 5K, flew on the Vietnam Airlines VN54 flight, arriving at Noi Bai International Airport at 4:30 AM on 2nd March 2020. The patient had no fever and did not declare medical history so that she has immigrated.

She was picked up by the family private driver. Later, she isolated herself in her house where she was in contact with her family members, 5 housekeepers and the driver.

On 5th March 2020, Nguyen had a fever and a cough and felt tired so that she was taken to Hong Ngoc Hospital in Yen Ninh Street, Ba Dinh District Hanoi. Then she was transferred to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District. She was examined and supervised carefully at the hospital.

People who were in contact with the 17th case

201 passengers, 4 pilots, 12 flight attendants on the flight VN54.

8 people in her house: Nguyen’s father and aunt, 5 housekeepers, 1 private driver.

17 doctors and nurses at Hong Ngoc Hospital.

-> All must be isolated.

What does the Vietnamese government do in order to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19 in Hanoi and the country?

Spray disinfectants in the street where Nguyen lives and Hong Ngoc Hospital.

Citizens living in houses around Truc Bach Street must be in isolation home. They are not allowed to leave the isolation area.

The Ministry of Health (Vietnam), names and information about the people who were in contact with Nguyen will go to the public soon.

Vietnam sent all the information including Nguyen’s itinerary to England and France.

Isolate Nguyen’s father and his driver who are living in Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong Province.

About 500 patients are in isolation at Hong Ngoc Hospital.
