A 42-year-old man who lives in Ninh Thuan Province tested positive for Coronavirus. He is the 61st case of Covid-19 in Vietnam and the first Coronavirus case in Ninh Thuan.

Patient 61 is an officer in the Islamist community in Van Lam 3 Hamlet, Phuoc Nam Commune, Thuan Nam District, Ninh Thuan Province.

On 26th February 2020, he and other 4 people went from Ninh Thuan to Ho Chi Minh City. One day later, they flew to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Then they attended a religious event that took place from 27th February to 1st March 2020 and attracted about 16,000 people.

He flew from Malaysia to Tan Son Nhat Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on flight VJ826 on 4th March.

On 4th and 5th March 2020,  they attended prayer at a temple in Phu Nhuan District. On the evening of 5th March 2020, he left Ho Chi Minh for his home.

On 6th March 2020, he attended prayer at Islamist Van Lam Temple.

On 10th March, he had a sore throat and a fever but did not take medicine.

On 12th March 2020, the government of Phuoc Nam Commune learned that he was in Malaysia so that he is instructed to go to the medical center for checkups.

On 15th March 2020, he went to Ninh Thuan General Hospital. He tested positive for Coronavirus.

He was in contact with a large number of people after returning to Vietnam.
