Vietnam confirms 21st Coronavirus case who sit near Case 17 on the same flight

On 8th March 2020, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam confirms the 21st case of Coronavirus in Vietnam, the 4th case in Hanoi. He sit next to Nguyen Hong Nhung – patient 17 on the same flight.

Case 21 is a 61-year-old man, sit near Nguyen Hong Nhung on the flight VN54 from UK, arrived at Noi Bai International Airport, Hanoi at 4:30 AM on 2nd March.

On 6th March 2020, patient 21 felt tired and had a cough.

On 7th March 2020, he was taken to the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Dong Anh District, Hanoi by his own car. The sample was taken and tested. As a result, the man tested positive for novel Coronavirus.

There are at least 26 people (F1) who were in close contact with patient 21: his wife, driver and 24 employees in his office. 23 people (F2) were in close contact with F1, 29 people (F3) were in close contact with F2. Some are in isolation at hospitals, others are in isolation at their homes.
