Coronavirus (Covid-19) Live Updates in Vietnam
In the late afternoon of 10th March 2020, Vietnam confirms case 34 of Coronavirus. The patient is a 51-year-old businesswoman who is the owner of a construction material company in Phu Thuy Ward, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province.
Itinerary of Patient 34 in Vietnam
On 22nd February 2020, she flew from Vietnam to New York, the U.S. on 22nd February 2020, transited at Incheon Airport, Korea for 3 hours. In her group, there are 18 members of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) of Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council (VWEC).
On 25th February 2020, they traveled to Washington D.C.
On 29th February 2020, she flew on the Qatar Airways QR 708 and Qatar Aiways QR 974 from Washington D.C., the U.S. to Vietnam, transited in Doha, Qatar and arrived at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 5:50 AM on 2nd March 2020. She went to her home in Binh Thuan by a private car.
On 5th March 2020, she had a cough and a fever, bought medicine herself but her health condition was not good. Four days later, she went to the General Hospital of Binh Thuan Province. She is in isolation and treated at this hospital.
Who was in contact with case 34?
She was in close contact with her family members including her husband, 2 sons, 2 daughters in law, a one-year-old grandchild and many other people including two accountants, two porters, 4 salesmen. Vietnam is finding people who were in contact with her and her family members in order to isolate them and control the outbreak.
On the flight Qatar Aiways QR 974, arriving at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 5:50 AM on 2nd March 2020, there are 71 economic class passengers, 5 business class passengers. The passengers include 55 foreigners, most of them are European and 21 Vietnamese citizens. They are aged between 5 and 74.
Patient 34 flew economic class and was in contact with about 9 people on the same flight. She also was in contact with more than 10 people including customs police, border police, airplane cleaners.
There are 10 Hanoians and 8 Saigoneses in her group. One Saigonese did not go on the same flight. 17 of them flew the same flight with case 34.
