3 Days Saigon Cai Be Sa Dec Can Tho Saigon on Le Cochinchine Cruise: Come back to our boat for lunch as it sails toward Sa Dec, a charming and quiet town on the Tien River. Take a junk to the floating Cai Be market, which is unique to the water area. Continue with a visit to a sumptuous traditional residence that used to be an imperial residence.

Day 1: Saigon – Cai Be – Sa Dec

Activities: Get on the Le Cochinchine boat and sail toward Sa Dec. Stop at the Sa Dec flower village, which is in full bloom, and take a walk through the countryside.

Morning

Between 7:30 and 8:00 AM, our driver will pick you up at your Saigon hotel and take you to the port so you can board the ship.

Welcome to our Cai Be pier from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Join us on our big boat for a drink and to check in. Le Cochinchine continues to Cai Thia.

When you land on the island of Cai Thia, you can walk or ride a bike through the villages surrounded by green orchards and rice fields.

Afternoon

Come back to our boat for lunch as it sails toward Sa Dec, a charming and quiet town on the Tien River.

When we get to the village, we go to a brickyard at the front. Continue to the busy market of Sa Dec, then visit the old house of Huynh Thuy Le, who was the lover of the French writer Marguerite Duras, as well as the Trung Vuong primary school, which Marguerite Duras’s mother started at the beginning of the 20th century. We find the Cao Dai temple and the bonsai and flower garden in the middle of the village of Sa Dec.

Come back to our boat for a foot massage and a drink while watching the sun set over the Mekong River.

Evening

Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2: Cai Be – Mang Thit – Tra On

Activities: Cruise back to Cai Be, visit the floating market in Cai Be, and take a nice walk or ride a bike on the country’s footpaths to see the tropical fruit orchards.

Morning

Wake up early to watch the sun rise over the romantic river before breakfast is served on board.

Take a junk to the floating Cai Be market, which is unique to the water area. Continue with a visit to a sumptuous traditional residence that used to be an imperial residence. The descendants of the Kiet family will open their doors to let you see the beautiful interior and walk through the garden, which is full of fruit trees. There is tea and a tasty selection of tropical fruits to go with it.

Continue on to the artisanal villages, where we can try rice alcohol, puffed rice cake, rice paper, and coconut candy, among other things.

Afternoon

When you get back to the boat, you can eat lunch on board as the boat heads toward the Co Chien River.

In the afternoon, you can walk or ride a bike along the paths through the countryside and villages to see the orchards and river activities and meet people who live there.

The boat keeps heading toward Tra On. On the upper deck, the aperitif is served as the sun sets over a beautiful scene.

If you take a cooking class on the boat, you can try making Pumpkin flowers stuffed with That Lat fish and learn how to cut vegetables for decorating dishes.

We ate dinner and slept on board.

Day 3: Tra On – Can Tho – Saigon

Activities: Arrive in Can Tho, visit the Cai Rang market, get off the boat, and head back to Saigon.

Morning

Breakfast was included. The morning bobbling and commotion of life on the Mekong river wakes up for another beautiful day. Our boat travels through tributaries, canals, and arroyos to get to Can Tho.

Transfer by local boat to the Cai Rang market, one of the most important floating markets in the area, full of small and large boats zipping back and forth on the water.

If you walk along the coves where fruit trees and palm trees provide shade, you will come to an orchard with many kinds of fruit, including mango, star apple, papaya, dragon fruit, and coconut.

11h00 AM: Disembark at the pier in Can Tho. End of nice cruise.
