Detailed Itinerary of Mekong Delta 4 Day Tour
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Can Tho (-/L/D)
Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at around 8:00 am and you will embark on a 2-hour drive to Cai Be. Next, a small boat is ready to take you along canals to visit its islands with some handicraft villages and the ancient house as well as enjoy Đờn ca tài tử (Southern amateur music) show – one of the unique cultural values of this region. In the afternoon, you will move to Tan Phong Island and have your lunch there.
After lunch, you will go on floating on a sampan wandering small creeks among islands and enjoy the fresh cool air and peaceful sceneries with many lush fresh orchards along the banks. During this one-hour boat trip, you will surely have nice photos and have fresh fruit as much as you will then disembark to come back to Can Tho City. Arriving in Can Tho, you will check-in at Mekong Rustic lodge and enjoy local dinner. You will overnight in Can Tho.
Day 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market (B/L/D)
In the early morning at 05.30, you will take a boat to Phong Dien Floating Market – the local market where they pick the tropical fruits from their garden to sell and have a chance to talk to the sellers on their boats. Then you will continue to cruise through beautiful canals to reach the Cai Rang Floating Market, which trades a lot of tropical fruits.
After experiencing the floating market, you will visit a local family who made rice noodles by hand with 3 generations and you can learn how to make noodles with them. You will eat a light breakfast at a local restaurant next to beautiful and quiet canals.
In the afternoon, you will go cycling to visit a blacksmith family who has been working for 50 years and made thousands of knives. Then, you will continue to visit some local activities and communicate with local people who will share culture and get to enjoy fresh fruits in the orchards. After that, you will stop at the traditional house spending 3 generations and learn how to make and taste the special banana cake with local people. In the late afternoon, you will come back to Mekong Rustic Can Tho for dinner.
Mekong Delta 4 Day Tour – Cai Rang Floating Market
Day 3: Can Tho – Chau Doc (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will arrive in Chau Doc after a 3-hour drive and spend all your day discovering this beautiful and friendly city. Firstly, you will go on a boat trip floating among the villages of Cham people on two river banks and learn more about their traditional silk weaving. You will then continue moving to Chau Giang to visit the biggest mosque in the Cham community.
In the afternoon, your next stops will be a Khmer temple, a floating fish farm, and Sam Mountain respectively. You should prepare your camera to catch the sunset moment from this mountain’s peak. You will spend your night at a hotel in Chau Doc.
Mekong Delta 4 Day Tour – Chau Giang Village
Day 4: Chau Doc – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
On the last day of this Mekong Delta journey, you are totally free for visiting and discovering the Chau Doc Market after having breakfast. Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs for your lover or you can talk with locals to find out more about the local culture in particular and Vietnamese culture in general.
Goodbye Chau Doc, you will go on a 6-hour drive to come back to Ho Chi Minh City. This trip will come to an end in the late afternoon in Ho Chi Minh City.
